Valencia Fontenelle-Posson has been a tremendous athlete even prior to her time at Siena College. She was a monumental leader on the team as she served as team captain and was named her high school’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2021. At Guiderland High School, Valencia was 4-time MVP, and finished her career with the team’s highest all-time single game, single season, and career leading scorer.

As a freshman at Siena, she played in 27 games and started in 7. Her success from high school carried over to her collegiate career where she scored double figures in 4 games, and had a career high of 13 points in a single game. Valencia was 28.7% from the floor and 70.6% from the free throw line on the 2021-22 season.

Going into her sophomore season, Fontenelle-Posson was named team captain, a tremendous accomplishment as a sophomore. In her 2 games so far, Valencia has 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. There is much in store for Valencia as an athlete and leader as her college career continues.
